Politics, Boundaries and Change is a highly interactive workshop where doulas explore events they have witnessed in the birth setting, their actions and the actions of other in the room, and the politics that come into play during birth.
We will explore the politics of institutions, the four pillars of effective change, the doula’s fragile position on the birth team, how doulas can work within scope and still protect and promote normal birth, and how doulas can do all this and still take care of themselves!
Learn about doula backlash, the bases of power in the birth world, doula boundaries, organizational citizens and so much more!
